1. Why adjust motorcycle ergonomics?

For the same reason why bicycle manufacturers produce different frame sizes with adjustable seat height, different handlebar widths and crank lengths. If you ride a M-size bike but have a size XL body, you'll find it very quickly that it's not OK and you do not feel naturally. It's the same with motorcycles. Due to manufacturing costs, manufacturers can not afford to produce motorcycles with different frame sizes, therefore chooses a compromise and produces them for riders with an average height of 170-178 cm (size M). The more you differ from the average body height, less your ride become comfortable and you have troubles to feel naturely on your motorcycle.
